It is the roots that reflects the life of ancestors, without which we would not exist. The roots develop into a mighty trunk (the axis of the universe) directed upwards, symbolizing the earthly world. The flowers on the tree are the present-day human life, and the kidneys are the embryos that will continue to grow.
